OUR VISION

Hope Café is a community project of Shannon Christian Church.

Shannon Christian Church’s vision is to ‘Love God, Love People, Love Life.’ We want to demonstrate the love of God to our community; whether it’s taking part in the town’s social fabric (Patrick’s Day Parade, Wesley Webb), practical support (Tidy-Towns, Love Shannon) and of late, developing Hope Café, as a community resource, so that community groups and events across the town can thrive.

Shannon Christian Church is part of a charity organisation, so Hope Café operates as a Not-for-Profit Café, dependant solely on community donations and support.

We strive to be a church at the heart of the community - with the community at heart.

Our community has expressed its need for a hub and a heart. As pointed out by the research of the Directors of The Venue, Shannon needs a multi-functional, not-for-profit, flexible space that caters for Shannon’s Community, Civic and Creative Arts. Hope Café is our humble attempt to meet those needs.

Since its inception in September 2018 as a community hub, Hope Café’s aimed to bring hope and positivity to life in Shannon through a variety of social events and activities such as various support groups, youth club, live music events, fundraisers, gaming nights, chess, keep-fit classes, local club committee meetings, language classes, open-mic nights and much more!

We’d like to see Hope continue to grow in the future. We’d like to see more of all of the above, as well as some new additions.

We wouldn’t say no to a nomination for a best Not-for-profit Irish Café Award in 2020 either!
